The challenge

The theory behind this framework is based on data from the fields of neuroscience, education, biology, and psychology combined with insights from our own experience in cultivating engagement, creativity and innovation. The goal is to collect and analyze existing research and reframe the data through the lens of Alchemy to tell a new and inspiring story which businesses can then use in supporting, encouraging, and perpetuating a sustainable culture of innovation. We then needed to curate this data into user-friendly resources to aide in implementation.

The insight

The framework begins by introducing thought-provoking materials that drive the processes of creativity and innovation through the quadrants of the Alchemy system. Existing research and data tend to be dispersed across various fields, so finding the thread that connects back to and supports these quadrants requires in-depth analysis and thoughtful content organization. Additionally, we needed to create a set of resources which would both act as a reminder of the principles and a source-book of tools and activities for clients to build upon.

The approach

My task on this project was to analyze scholarly research and reframe the applicable data through a new and interconnected lens. Through strategic conversations, we took this research and created a clear narrative supporting the Alchemy principles and providing a comprehensive framework. We also needed to test out some of the principles through internal and external facing workshops and creative sessions. Since we needed client-facing tools, it was also my task to take this framework and translate it into meaningful and accessible content.
